Details
Published: 03 October 2025

Welcome Iago! Iago completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain. He conducted his PhD in the QMatterPhotonics lab at USC, where he studied critical phenomena and vortex dynamics of superconductors under Prof. Jesús Mosqueira. He then joined the Galicia Supercomputing Center (CESGA), working on quantum communications and network-assisted protocols for distributing quantum algorithms. Iago has now joined the Distributed Quantum Systems group for a two-year secondment, where he will be developing a cavity-integrated trapped-ion quantum network node, and work towards demonstrating distributed quantum computing and sensing.
