Óscar Andrey Herrera joins the group

Óscar Andrey Herrera joins the group as a postdoc to collaborate to the Precision and the Ultrafast experiments.

Óscar earned his Dr. rer. nat. in 2012 at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany, for his work "Laser excitation of 8-eV electronic states in Th+: A first pillar of the electronic bridge toward excitation of the Th-229 nucleus". He owns a Master's degree from the Center for Research on Materials Science and Engineering, San José, Costa Rica for his work "Ultra thin films of gadolinium deposited by evaporation in ultra-high vacuum conditions".

Óscar currently holds a permanent position at the two main universities in Costa Rica, the University of Costa Rica and the Costa Rica Institute of Technology, as researcher and lecturer. His research projects in Costa Rica include cooling of strontium atoms as well as biomedical topics.
